A Not-So-Funny Friend

If public humiliation was just a joke, everyone would walk around with a “kick me” sign on their back. Taking a chill pill definitely doesn’t seem like the answer to this chicks backstab!

My BFF and I were in homeroom and I was telling her about the good grade I got on my project.  She seemed so happy for me that she gave me a hug, so I said “Thanks!”  And then the lunch bell rang.  While I was in the lunch line, the kids behind me started laughing. I didn’t think too much of it, just figured they were laughing at something else. By the time I got my lunch, more people behind me were laughing. I tried to Ignore it, but I was starting to get suspicious. I sat down with my friends at lunch and the boys behind me started laughing too, so I finally said, “Ok, fine, what is it?  Why is everyone laughing like that?”  One of my friends pulled off a paper taped to my back off that said “kick me, I like it!”  Everyone laughed, even my friends.  The worst part about it?! It was my BFF who did it!  I went to her and asked why she did it, and she said it was just a joke, that I “needed to take a chill pill.” I have been mad her ever since.
BFF Fix-It: Sometimes our BFF’s can get caught up in the moment, and do some totally mean stuff.  Anyone who puts a “kick me” sign on her friends back doesn’t seem like much of a friend at all.  Let her know you don’t think its funny, and that “taking a chill pill” is prob not the way to go.  If you can’t see eye to eye, you might want to let her go. Need new pals? Seems like the girl who took the paper off would be a better bet.
