The Haunted Hathaways' Amber Montana talks Halloween and ghosts

Halloween season is officially here, which means we can break out our cobweb decorations, take a trip to the pumpkin patch and drink hot apple cider every night! We got to talk to The Haunted Hathaways star Amber Montana in a GL exclusive about everything from the creepiest thing she’s seen on set to her most embarrassing Halloween story. Plus, get an inside look at the spookiest cross-over episode on Nickelodeon yet when The Haunted Hathaways meets The Thundermans!

GL: Ghosts play a major part in The Haunted Hathaways. Even though it’s a sitcom, have you seen anything on set recently that has spooked you?

Amber Montana: Not recently, but last year there were times when the piano would start playing by itself. No one would really be on stage and all of a sudden you would hear the piano! It was the weirdest thing.

If you had ghost powers for one day, what would you do?

I just moved into a new house so I would probably use them to put everything away really fast. Maybe afterwards go scare my friends just for fun.

What has been your craziest Halloween costume to date?

I haven't done anything too crazy, but last year was probably my favorite. I went to Demi Lovato's Halloween party dressed as a Power Ranger with wounds. It was so much fun!

Do you have an embarrassing Halloween or family story you could share with our readers?

A couple years ago I was Lucille Ball. I had to go into acting class dressed as her and act like her, but I had just gotten over being sick so I didn't have a voice! I had to try a monologue with no voice and it was really rough and super embarrassing. Luckily, my friends in class helped me laugh it off.

Amber seems to have a sweet tooth for all things spooky and that’s why we can’t wait to see her in the Halloween special “The Haunted Thundermans,” which premieres this Saturday, October 11, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon. After a super-villain escapes Ghost World on Halloween, the Thundermans head to New Orleans to join forces with the Hathaways and the Prestons to defeat the ghoul. However, saving the day gets complicated when super-powered, trick-or-treating sibling jealousy and teen romance get in the way.

This one-hour event is sure to be the most exciting episode yet! Be sure to tune in, then come back and share your thoughts. And for more on Amber Montana, be sure to check out GL’s October/November 2014 issue, on sale now!
