During the summer I went on a school trip and I got to know a boy from my school. We don't share classes, but he's quite popular and so I've got his MSN address. During the trip we've talked a little and now I like him a lot. 

Until recently, he was single, so I started talking to him on MSN. We didn't talk much, but at least I tried. He even asked for my phone number, but I don't really think he's going to use it. Recently, I heard that he has a girlfriend. I'm not positive, but right now I feel upset, even though nothing happened between us. And I still really like him! 

I'm not sure what I should do now. Should I keep talking to him as if I don't know anything? Or just try to be friends with him? And if he does not have a girlfriend or if he breaks up with her how can I make him like me back now that I can't talk to him face-to-face or even smile at him?

It's totally normal to feel a bit heartbroken when your crush starts dating another girl. It's also fine to be confused with the whole sitch, you just gotta get to the bottom of things, and then figure out what to do.

First off, find out if the rumors are true. You can flat out ask the fella, or you can ask him what his weekend plans are and see if he mentions a GF. Or ask around and see if any of your mutual friends know what's up.

If he's single, keep chatting it up. Feel the situation out a bit and send some flirty messages. If he says something flirty back, it's a green light that he's prob into you, too. So, go ahead and ask him to hang. This way you CAN talk to him face-to-face and show off that gorgeous smile!

But if he's taken? Uh-oh....you SO don't wanna be that "other girl." If you can confirm he has a GF, then it's better to just remain friends with this guy. Sure, he might be single again someday soon, but in the meanwhile chat up other cuties with similar qualities that this guy had.

It's not going to be easy to mend your heart, but it's definitely worth keeping this guy around if you really like him. Remember: if you really wish for something, it just might come true.
