Wizards of Waverly Place is set to reboot...and we couldn't be more excited

If you thought that Wizards of Waverly Place (aka the show of our childhood) would never leave the 2000s, we have some news for you: Everything is not what it seems! The beloved Russo family is heading back to the screen for a spellbinding revival called Wizards, which will begin filming this April and is coming to Disney Channel and Disney+ this fall!

@davidhenrie The Russo’s are excited to become apart of your family, once again, but we’ve grown 😊 2024, the year magic comes back! 🪄 #WizardsOfWaverlyPlace #WoWP #DisneyChannel #BigAnnouncement #Disney #FYP #ForYou ♬ original sound - David Henrie

Selena Gomez is set to reprise her iconic role as Alex Russo in the pilot, and David Henrie (who played Alex's brother, Justin Russo) will be a series regular. The pair will executive produce the new series. And David DeLuise (who plays their dad, Jerry Russo) and Maria Canals-Barrera (aka their mom, Theresa) will be returning, too.

The cast will also include some new members, including Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.

The plot:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show follows Justin as an adult. He's abandoned his magical powers for a low-key life with his new family—until a young wizard named Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown) is brought to him by Alex Russo and asks for help saving the wizarding world.

There's no doubt that this reunion between Selena Gomez and David Henrie for our fave classic show will be something we won't want to miss! While we don't have all the deets yet, we can tell you this: Get ready for a dose of *magical* nostalgia this fall!
