The single girlie's guide to self-love
Valentine's Day has come and gone...but sometimes, the single blues can linger well into March. If you're flying solo rn, here are some of our top tips for enjoying literally any day of the year as a single queen and celebrating the love that's already in your life—even if you've been feeling some single-girl sadness.
Take yourself on a date
If you're looking for a way to bring the sweet and romantic springtime energy into your life, no S.O. required, why not come up with something fun you'd like to do with a date and do it yourself?
Your solo date can be as adventurous *or* as low-key as you like. Going on an early spring walk around the neighborhood and browsing a bookstore are cute activities that aren't awkward to do by yourself. Even better, bring a book or magazine to a coffee shop and treat yourself to some latte-and-reading time for a cozy and relaxing self-care day (with romantic academia vibes)!
Have the ultimate cozy night in
Forget about going out and have a cuddle-up-on-the-couch night. You could bake a sweet treat or bring out the popcorn for a movie, TV or book night. Invite your single besties over or treat it as a comfy self-love night where you can relax, no company needed!
Remember: There's plenty of romance in your future
Remember: Romance, or lack of romance, doesn't define you. There are so many other parts of your life, like your fam, friends, interests, talents and amazing personality that are just as important.
But when you're sad about being single, it can help to remember that things can change...and they will! If you want a relationship, it will happen, and letting things develop organically can lead to the best results. Honestly, there are probably so many non-single days in your future that you should enjoy the single girlie life now while you still can!
Celebrate *all* the love in your life
If you're feeling stuck in single limbo, it's helpful to reframe the way you think about love (think: your fam, friends and pets).
Take a minute to write a card for your mom, or bring some homemade cookies to your besties. Planning and giving mini gifts is also a great self-care activity that can help you relax and be more present when you're feeling blue about being single. You could also write a gratitude list to remind yourself of all the things you love in your life.
