Boho Beauty is *so* back, bb

CRUCIAL UPDATE: According to the spring ’25 runways, bohemian style is about to make quite the comeback. A quick look at the Chloé show says it all—effortless waves, ethereal skin and romantic makeup brought the collection’s ruffled chiffon, sheer lace and floral frocks to life. Ready to embrace your softer side? Feel free.

Free spirit freckles

"The boho beauty aesthetic tends to have a playfulness about it," explains Lancôme's national director of makeup Jasmine Ferreira. That's where Taylor Swift's glitter freckles come into play.

Simply press this sheet to your cheeks, dampen with a warm washcloth and peel. Yep, it really is that easy.

Sunkissed cheeks

For makeup artist and Stila Cosmetics global beauty director Charlie Riddle, boho is all about warm, earthy tones like bronze, brown and terracotta. “These shades read the most natural and effortless, which is key to the look,” he says. Riddle is partial to cream blush in a pretty peach: “Use your fingertips to blend it onto the apples of your cheeks, giving a ‘just in the sun’ vibe.”

Larger than life lashes

The nice thing about going mostly minimal with makeup is that your lashes can have an even bigger impact. At Chloé, a cream liner on the waterline created a stark contrast between the brightness of the eyes and inky black fringe, which had a retro, spidery feel. Swipe mascara on the top (and bottom!) lashes, waiting a minute to let the first coat dry before applying a second. This gives the mascara time to get tacky and clump together in that signature ’60s style. Twiggy would be proud.

Fresh skin

For a face that appears to be kissed by ethereal cherubs, Karin Westerlund (the makeup artist who created this look for the Chloé show) started with a glowy primer before topping it with a tinted moisturizer. Apply it with your fingers for an even more natural and effortless look.

Tousled texture

“Think soft, natural waves with a touch of beachy texture—hair that looks unstructured but still stylish, perfectly undone without even trying,” says hairstylist Marie Nino. The best way to achieve it? Wash your hair, then rough-dry on low speed, gently lifting with your fingers (flip your head upside down if you want volume). Finish by adding a few spritzes of texture spray for extra oomph.

Embrace accessories

Boho is all about “loose waves, braids and messy buns,” shares hairstylist Kimberly Marina. But whatever style you choose, adding accessories is highly encouraged. Desert Western designs mix hardware with dainty details, while clip-in chains can be woven into your plait, adding an unexpected metallic pop of texture that’s as boho as it gets.
