5 adorable hair looks to try this fall

Fall has finally arrived, and with the new season comes fun, quirky hairstyles that are easy, manageable—and dare we say mindful? Quick and easy to execute, you'll have a darling 'do in seconds that'll last all day long. To get you, uh, ~headed~ in the right direction, we've picked our 5 fave hair accessories for the fall and showcased exactly how you can rock them.

1. The French pin

@alexgaboury

Achieve a soft but intriguing look with a French pin—a simple metal prong that'll hold up your hair in seconds without doing any damage.  You can use a French pin to secure all sorts of styles, like this half-up twist.

To get the look, first, take a portion of your hair and twist it around your finger. With this shape formed, you can either form it into a tight bun or leave that existing shape your finger created and insert the pin upside down from the bottom, push in, and flip around. Once the pin is snug, it should stay put 'til you're ready to let your hair down. (Check out this tutorial for the visual how-to!).

2. Hair bows

@cheban_alena

Hair bows are still very much having a moment. From runways to hallways, we're seeing bows and ribbons add a soft and spunky touch to an otherwise everyday fit. Try a classic bow on a half-up and half-down look or weave a ribbon within your braids for a pop of texture and color.

3. Hair jewelry

@shakedbraids

While you may classify hair jewelry as a bold choice, a few gems here and there can complete an understated and v. unique look. Tuck a few metal flowers into a loose braid, or try some jewels popping through a low bun. We're loving these adhesive pearls that you can stick in your tresses to amp up the elegance. The key to keeping it demure? Less is most definitely more.

4. Silk scarf

@chickayy

Conjure classic Hollywood glamor vibes with a silk head scarf. Raid your Grandma's closet or head to a thrift store to find a scarf that speaks to you (Cheetah print? Bold hues? Floral? Whatever suits your mood!). Then, simply fold it in half to get a triangle shape, wrap it over your head, and then tie the two loose pieces around a ponytail or a bun. Or go for full glam by covering your entire head and tying the scarf under your chin. Dramatic *and* dreamy.

5. Claw clips

@everydayscrunchie

These hair holders are one of the basics for a reason—they're often the most effortless and stylish choice. In various colors, designs and textures, these clips can hold your hair securely while adding a fun element to your outfit. This hair accessory and look calls juuust the right amount of attention to itself—you can go subtle or standout based on which clip you choose. Plus, they're so  easy to use: twist your hair, open the claw and clamp down.
