Actress Sophia Hammons can definitely appreciate an OG DCOM—which explains why she was recently cast in Disney's Freakier Friday, the sequel to the body-swapping 2003 flick starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan. The 17-year-old, who you may recognize from flicks like Under Wraps and The Social Dilemma, will share the screen with Curtis, Lohan and Never Have I Ever's Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Mark your cals now: The movie is slated for release in August 2025 (which actually can't come soon enough!).  

GL caught up with the California-born and Colorado-based star during one of her rare days off—and she spilled on everything from her latest role to her adorbs BF. 

Girls' Life: What was it like working with icons like Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan? 

Sophia Hammons: It was very surreal! But they are just fun and loving people, and I was so grateful to be in their presence. We've become like family, and they feel like home now. 

GL: Had you seen Freaky Friday before you landed the role? 

Sophia: Yes! The first time I watched Freaky Friday, I was about 12 or 13 which I think is a very influential point in my life. I needed a movie like that at the time.

GL: You can't say much about your Freakier Friday character, but tell us this: Are you anything like her?

Sophia: Without giving away too much, I would say that I am *much* more easy going than she is!

GL: Let's talk about Sophia IRL. What are you doing on a typical chill day? 

Sophia: I'm a homebody, so most of the time, I'm playing my guitar and watching TV. Or maybe I'm listening to Frank Ocean, eating—I love Indonesian food and bagels—hanging out with friends, my dog or loved ones. 

GL: Can you share a bit about your BF, Dylan Hoffman? You two are so cute on socials! 

Sophia: Dylan and I were friends and then started talking one-on-one until we began to date. I'm very happy and we have so much fun together. He's like a Golden Doodle. He's hyper!

GL: Finally, if you could switch bodies with anyone, who would it be? 

Sophia: My dad. He's always doing so much for everyone else. It would be cool to be in his shoes and to see what life is like through his eyes.
