OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
1. Eligibility: The Selena Gomez sweeps (the contest) is open only to legal
residents of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States. Contest entrants
must be female ages 8-19. Employees of Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation as
well as the immediate family (parents, siblings and children) and household
members of such employee are not eligible. The contest is subject to all
applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited
by law.
2. Sponsor: Girls’ Life Acquisition Company, 4529 Harford
Road, Baltimore, MD 21214.
3. Timing: The contest begins July 16, 2011 at 12:01 a.m.
Eastern Time and ends on August 20, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The
sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeper of the contest.
4. How to enter: During the time period of the contest,
there are three ways one can enter the contest:
1. When subscribing to or renewing Girls’ Life magazine before August 20, the
subscriber will automatically be entered in the contest. If a contest entrant
is subscribing to the magazine to be entered into the contest, payment in full
is required and must be received no later than August 20, 2011 at 11:59 p.m.
All payments received after this date will NOT be entered into the drawing for
the contest.
2. Girls can also enter by filling out the entry form found HERE.
5. Agreement to Contest: The grand prize winner will be
chosen and notified on August 21, 2011. If the winner of the contest is unable
to agree with all terms of the rules and regulations, they will not be rewarded
with the prize and all entities included, and another winner will be chosen.
6. Prize: ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: Four (4) tickets to the
Selena concert (August 26, 2011) schedule to be held in Timonium, MD, at the
Maryland State Fair, four (4) $200 vouchers to be used for flight arrangements,
one (1) night stay at a local hotel (prearranged by the staff at
Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation). If the grand prize-winner is not of legal
age (according to state law) the parent/legal guardian to the winner must be
present for all portions of the trip. The winner (unless a minor as determined
by state law in which the winner resides) or legal guardian to the winner must
make flight arrangements. Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation is NOT responsible
for making these arrangements. If the cost of the flight exceeds the $200
allocated per person, the winner or parent/legal guardian to the winner is
responsible for funding the difference. Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation is
not, under any circumstances responsible for making payment in the difference of
this amount. Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation will coordinate hotel
accommodations, including double occupancy (two rooms for the winner, her guardian and
her two guests). The winner or parent/legal guardian to the winner of the
contest is held responsible for coordinating ground transportation upon arrival
in Baltimore, MD. Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation is in no way responsible
for coordinating ground transportation. Any and all expenses incurred are the
responsibility of the winner or parent/legal guardian. Tickets to the concert
will be awarded to the winner the night of the concert by a staff member of
Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation. In addition, the winner is eligible to meet
Selena though this opportunity subject to Selena’s availability the night of
the concert.
7. Terms of the prize: All portions of the prize (concert
tickets, voucher and hotel room) are non-transferable and no
substitutions will be made unless Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation in its
sole discretion determines otherwise. Winner is responsible for all taxes and
fees associated with prize receipt and/or use.
8. General Conditions: Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation
reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the contest, or any part of
it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Girls’ Life
Acquisition Corporation’s control impairs the integrity or proper functioning
of the contest, as determined by Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation and it’s
sole discretion.
9. Personal Information: Any information obtained by Girls’
Life Acquisition Corporation in regards to the contest is subject to
Girlslife.com’s privacy policy.
10. Release: By accepting any prize, the applicable winner
agrees to release and hold harmless Girls’ Life Acquisition Corporation and
each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively,
the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action,
including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of
property, arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use or
misuse of any prize.
11. Limitations of Liability: The Released Parties are not
responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by
entrant, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated
with or utilized in the contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including,
but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions or disconnections in phone
lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in
any part of the entry process or the contest; (4) technical or human error
which may occur in the administration of the contest or the processing of
entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any
injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or
indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation or guests of
entrant in the contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. Sponsor is not
responsible for misdirected or undeliverable entries or for any technical
problems, malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers,
hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed,
incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination
thereof. Sponsor and Administrator not responsible for any typographical/other
error in entries, selection announcement or for any liability for damage to any
computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading
information in connection with this promotion.
12. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that:
(1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or
connected with this contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved
individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by
the appropriate Maryland State Court located in Baltimore County, Maryland; (2)
any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual
out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this
Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will
entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights
to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any
other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all
rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and
questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and
enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the
entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and
construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Maryland without giving
effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of
Maryland or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the
laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Maryland.
