My Writing Is My Soul - An original poem
“My Writing Is My Soul”
I can't dance
And I can't sing.
People express themselves
Using these two things.
So to express myself
What can I do?
I write and draw
Fantasy, fiction, and realistic, too.
But people don't realize
My writing is my soul
They compliment and criticize harshly,
Shoving my esteem into a hole.
My drawings aren't realistic,
They're cartoonish at best.
But I put my heart and soul
Into each stroke of lead.
They just don't realize
How much it truly hurts
When they criticize it all;
My thoughts and my works.
Maybe if they did
They'd be a bit more kind.
Maybe if they only knew
How much of myself is in each thought and line.
If they understood my feelings,
Or even just read my stories
Instead of glancing at them
Like they have leprosy...
Maybe then,
