You Are A Superhero - An original poem
When I was three
And you were six
We weren't listening to time
As it ticks
We were cowgirls,
Hats made of paper and tape.
Then I was hero and you were villain,
And you made me a pillow case cape.
For days I "flew,"
Pillow case fluttering after me.
Bragging about all the birds
I could now see.
But now that we're older,
You're amazing in a great way.
You work, you learn, you swim,
But most important, you know how to play.
Now when I feel weak,
You make me strong.
When I do bad,
You right my wrong.
I don't think you know,
That I look up to you.
And I wish I had what it takes,
To fill your shoe.
So I'll take off my cape,
And I'll give it to you happily.
Because maybe you'll see,
What you mean to me.
