Celebrate Earth Day with SpongeBob

Everyone’s favorite square and yellow underwater sponge is totally prepped for April 22—yes, Earth Day!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and Nickelodeon is giving viewers a special taste of the awesome celebration SpongeBob style! At 8 p.m. ET/PT, Nick will be airing a brand new eco-friendly episode of SpongeBob SquarepantsSpongeBob’s Last Stand

The episode is about standing up for what’s right for the Earth. SpongeBob and Patrick find out that Jellyfish Fields is in danger of being paved over into a superhighway, the “Shelly Super Highway” to be exact. Can SpongeBob and Patrick get enough support to protest? Or will the other sea creatures leave them in the dust?
SpongeBob’s Last Stand also features two new hilarious songs, “The Jellyfishing Song” and “Give Jellyfish Fields a Chance.” These two tunes are meant to be like the many protest songs of the 1960s, and you can totally tell by the way SpongeBob and Patrick dress during one of them. But, hey, we’re not going to spoil which one it is. You’ll have to tune in to find out!

Check out the eco-friendly episode TOMORROW night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon, then let us know your thoughts.

Do you think SpongeBob and Patrick will save Jellyfish Fields? What’s a great thing you’ve done for Earth Day? Let us know!
