Thank your teachers after a tough school year with the *sweetest* virtual tribute

It's been a long, difficult school year for everyone—but through it all, teachers have been there for us. Just like you, they've had to make the switch from in-person to Zoom to hybrid learning. Since the first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week, now is the *perfect* time to show your teach you care—you might just make their day!

This virtual appreciation idea started when students at the College of New Jersey wanted to thank their statistics professor for being so incredible and understanding during the pandemic:

Now, it's become a TikTok trend as other students thank their teachers online—and you can do it, too!

Here's what to do:

Simply get your classmates on board and have each person make a sign reading, "Thank You!", "You're the Best!" or another personal comment expressing your gratitude for your instructor. You can even relate your words to your teacher's subject like the College of New Jersey students did—"You're in the 99th percentile of my all-time favorite teachers" for statistics or "Thank you for coloring our world" for art. If you want to make it a surprise like in this TikTok, you can start class with your cameras turned off and then slowly turn them on to reveal your signs.

Want to honor your teacher in a different way? You can try making a group card (online or written!) and have everyone in your class sign it and say thank you. Or, you can make a video with each student sharing their favorite memory of your teacher and the class. Extra points for creativity!
