The single girlie's guide to self-love
Valentine's Day is just around the corner...but sometimes, being single can make sweetheart season feel not-so-sweet. No worries, bb. We get it.
If you're flying solo rn, here are some of our top tips for enjoying V-Day (or, any day of the year tbh) as a single queen and celebrating the love that's already in your life—even if you've been feeling some relationship FOMO.
Take yourself on a date
If you're looking for a way to bring the sweet and romantic energy into your life, no S.O. required, why don't you take yourself out on a date?
Your solo outing can be as adventurous *or* as low-key as you like. Heading out for scenic, winter walk around the neighborhood and browsing a bookstore are cute activities that aren't awkward to do by yourself. Even better, bring your next TBR to a coffee shop and treat yourself to some cozy latte-and-reading time (romantic academia vibes, anyone?).
Have the ultimate cozy night in
Forget about going out and have a cuddle-up-on-the-couch night. You could bake a sweet treat with your sibs, or grab some popcorn for a movie night with your besties. After all, who *doesn't* love a comfy night-in?
Remember: There's plenty of romance in your future
Say it with us: Romance, or lack of romance, doesn't define you. There are so many other parts of your life, like your fam, friends, interests, talents and amaze personality that are just as important.
But when you're sad about being single, it can help to remember that things can change...and they will! If you want a relationship, it will happen, and letting things develop organically can lead to the best results. Tbh, there are probably so many non-single days in your future that you should enjoy the single girlie life now while you still can!
Celebrate *all* the love in your life
If you're feeling stuck in single limbo, it's helpful to reframe the way you think about love.
Take a minute to write a card for your mom, or bring some homemade cookies to your besties. Planning and giving mini gifts is also a great self-care activity that can help you relax and be more present when you're feeling the single blues. You could also write a gratitude list to remind yourself of all the things you love in your life. You got this, babe!
