How to create a bestie memory journal this school year

It's safe to say that one of the greatest things in life is the forever mems you make with your besties...and what better way to keep track of *every* moment than with a journal? If you're looking for a fun DIY to do with your squad, crafting a memory journal is srsly the best way to bond, while looking back on all the unforgettable times you shared.

With the school year coming up, here is your ultimate guide to starting and completing a memory journal with your friends.

Find the perfect journal

First things first: Find the journal that's *so* you. We'd recommend making it into a fun outing with your besties—head out to your local craft store to browse the journals until you find one you can all agree on. Or if you'd rather opt for online shopping, you should check out Red Bubble, Etsy and Amazon to get started.

Decorate it

When it comes to decorating, this is your chance to get creative (think: stickers, gems and sooo much glitter). First, start with decorating the cover: spell out a title in bright markers, glitter glue, magazine cutouts, stamps or anything else you choose (and if you're not sure what the title should be? Can't go wrong with spelling out your names!).

When it comes to decorating the inside pages, we'd recommend layering different colored paper to start, then adding on doodles, messages and other cute decor. And most importantly, don't forget tons of cute pics with your besties (whether you use Polaroids or print new pics is totally up to you)!

Page content

To start your journal, we suggest making an "About Us" page with *all* the current deets about you. For example, include your names (obvi), along with your hobbies, favorite things, goals for the school year, likes, dislikes, etc. This way, you can reminisce and see how much you've changed over the years!

Wondering what other content to incorporate? An amazing first page is journaling the first day of school—put your back-to-school OOTD, classes and overall feelings for the day all on paper. From there, each page can cover different events and hangouts you and your BFFs share throughout the year.

The fab thing about keeping a memory journal is that it keeps you and your besties connected for life. Make it a monthly gathering to scrapbook new journal pages, or perhaps pass it around every week so that each person can add their own individualized mementos (inspired by The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie ofc!).

Once the year ends, you now have a journal to recollect every moment—the good, the bad and everything in between.
