Stuck in the middle? How to handle a best friend feud

A fight with a gal pal is bad enough, but if your best buds are butting heads with each other, it’s hard to stay sane! It can feel totally impossible to be there for your girls without being caught in the middle of the drama. So how do you deal?

Avoid side-picking
We know its super tough, but try to stay neutral. Your best chance at getting the ex-besties back together is by keeping your own thoughts out of it. Never, ever tell one girl she’s in the right. You’ll just ruin your friendship with the other!

Better the buzz
When one BFF disses the other behind her back or urges you to get in on the gossip about her, back away! Pull a topic switch-up and bring up something better to chat about. Or mention something sweet like “Well, she’s always honest” or “But she’s so much fun to be around”. Stay positive. Engaging in the trash talk will get ya wrapped up in all the drama too.

Play peacemaker
Pick a calm, quiet time to bring together your gals for a vent sesh. Give each of your BFFs a chance to share their side of the story. Keep your opinions to yourself as much as poss (see “avoid side picking”!) and let the ladies talk it out.

Don’t force it
This BFF feud is most likely a passing problem. With a little time, the two chicas could reunite like nothing ever happened. But if not, don’t push them. Put it in the past and stay focused on your own relationships with the besties.

Have you ever been stuck in the middle of two friends? What did you do?
