Your Bod
These girls will help you love your bod
For decades, fashion has failed to make plus-sized girls feel accepted in the fashion community. But recently, a surge of models and fashion gurus are taking over and showing real girls that plus is pretty (finally!). If you're feeling less-than-stellar about your bod, we’ve got a list of powerful ladies who preach self love and celebrate diversity who are *sure* to boost your body confidence.
Ashley Graham
Model and body activist, Ashley Graham is all about real beauty and positive body image. She speaks about gaining confidence and being a beautiful woman and it's *so* inspiring.
Jordyn Woods
Known as Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods is tired of being labeled as a “plus-size” model. She told E!, “I feel like when you categorize people and put them into a group, then it creates aloneness and segregation. There are so many models that it shouldn’t really matter. I don’t think there should be categories.” We couldn’t agree more.
Nadia Aboulhoson
Beauty blogger Nadia is yet another fierce lady that’s changing the face of fashion. She received enough buzz that H&M Magazine picked her up for a photoshoot and here’s what she had to say about the impact she’s making on women: “When I started blogging it was just a way to express myself. I would just literally wear anything that made me feel good at the moment. Then I started to see that it was affecting people, and giving women something to relate to instead of just the typical beauty standards. It made me want to keep on going, keep breaking boundaries.”
Allison Teng
Curvy Girl Chic creator Allison is trying to bridge the gap between curves and fashion. She created her blog to review products, spread ideas and share outfits. Her writing and beauty go beyond her blog, too, as she has collaborated for Forever21, Wet Seal, ASOS and more. You go, girl.
