We dare ya: Try a new spring fashion trend... every day of the week

Your closet needs a spring awakening (we said it!). Test out the freshest new shapes and textures—aka sequins, fringe and feathers—then watch your style bloom.

Monday—Do: Daytime shimmer

Sequin jacket, $60, Loft. Sequin midi skirt, $40, Mango. Olive parka, $50, Guess Factory. Adidas lavender trackpant, $34, Macy's. Vans, $45, Rack Room Shoes.

It's giving a whole new meaning to rise and shine: Match sequins with something sporty like a parka or sneakers—the unexpected athletic vibe that downplays all that sparkle (without dampening the glow).

Tuesday—Make it mellow yellow

Purse, $22, Amazon. High-neck dress, $63, Abercrombie & Fitch. Button-up, $32, Commense. Leopard midi skirt, $18, Pink Lily. Ballet flat, $95, Lisa Says Gah.

What better way to welcome the day than with a golden hue? Butter yellow will soon be everywhere—and it feels just right served up with bold prints like plaid and leopard. Apply liberally!

Wednesday—Bring on the big blooms

Puffy shoulder bag, $11, Fashion Nova.  Sam Edelman ruffle tier midi skirt, $48, Belk. Knit vest, $30, Micas. BOBS Tango, $70, Sketcher's. Floral wide-leg pant, $28, Cider.

We love a bitty blossom, but now's the time for bold, burgeoning blooms. No shy wallflowers here: Reach for all-over florals in strong, moody colors mixed with crisp separates.

Thursday—Rustle up some ruffles

Chiffon ruffle bell sleeve blouse, $32, Cider. Jeans, $60, Abercrombie & Fitch. Purse, $160, Charles & Keith.  Circus NY by Sam Edelman Jacey clog, $60, Amazon.  En Saison tiered dress, $75, Saks Fifth Avenue.

There's nothing like cascading ruffles to get you excited about getting dressed. Try  yours with denim (wide-leg, for that '70s vibe) or layer your summer frock over a turtleneck (transition dressing at it's best).

Friday—Freshen up those stripes

Striped polo, $15, Target. Fringe knit midi skirt, $58, & Other Stories. Tan side stripe pants, $48, Lulus. Zara silver metallic purse (pre-owned, new with tag), $50, Poshmark. Lilac Dr. Martens, $128, Amazon.

Stripes + fringe might feel like a mismatch, but it's actually genius: Grab your trusty mariner shirt, pop it under a fringe jacket and give all those rigid lines a little movement.

Weekend—Fuzzy texture

Faux fur purse, $79, Jw Pei. Multicolor cardigan, $50, New Look. Nike violet shorts, $50, DSG.  Feather trim crop top, $80, Rosedress. Run Star Hike platform faux fur sneakers, $85, Converse.

Saturday and Sunday are not the time for hard pants, duh. But if you want to elevate your go-to sweatsuit, opt for oversized pieces with tonsa texture (because you don't have to sacrifice coolness for softness).
