7 festive ways to stay fit
Trimming the tree
Claim the ladder and incorporate a step aerobics exercise into the merriment. Lay out your ornaments and carry them one at a time up the ladder, hang and march your way back down. Repeat!
Baking cookies
While you’re waiting for your favorite cookies to bake, do a li’l cardio in the kitchen—as long as you aren’t in the way, of course. A circuit of jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches and other easy moves will keep you moving.
Decorating your gingerbread house
It’s hard not to munch on candy decorations, and we’re certainly not gonna ask you to resist. Instead, match each of your bites with a bit of exercise. Just finished a candy cane? Bust a move while you blast your fave tune.
Decking the halls
Instead of moaning and groaning when Mom asks you to bring down the ornaments and mistletoe, hop up off the couch and get moving. Bring down boxes one at a time from the attic (or up from the basement), and liven up the pace to keep your blood pumping.
Last-minute shopping
When you’re hitting the mall with fam and friends, power walk from store to store and opt for taking the stairs instead of escalators or elevators. And you might wanna split that cinnamon bun with your sweeties instead of scarfing one down solo!
Wrapping presents
Don’t lounge on the floor with your boxes and bows. Instead, arrange you wares on the kitchen counter or a high table and stand while you snip paper and fold corners. Perfection.
