Make a Splash
Get fit without breaking a sweat. We chatted with Tom Yetter, a coach at North Baltimore Aquatic Club (where Michael Phelps used to train), who shared his tips for shaping up in the pool. Warm up with laps, then rock the drills.
Wall Kicks
Start by holding the side of the pool, arms straight out in front and legs straight behind you. Quickly kick your legs by scissoring up and down. Repeat for 20 seconds and then rest for 20 seconds. Alternate for a minute.
V-Sits
Start in the water with a noodle resting under your shoulders. Use your arms to keep the noodle pressed against your upper back and lift your legs straight out in front of you. Lean back in the water a couple inches. Use your abs to lift your torso and legs up. Keep your legs straight the entire time. Repeat for 10 seconds on and off for a minute.
Press Outs
Hold yourself on the side of the pool so your torso is out of the water. Lower down by bending your elbows out to the side. Push back up. Repeat for 10 seconds. Rest for 10 and repeat for a minute. Go to girlslife.com for more moves.
