Beat the end-of-the-school-year slump with these *important* tips
The itis isn't just for food and seniors—it can happen anytime! *Especially* when the weather is warm but you're stuck in a classroom all afternoon writing papers and preparing for exams. It's easy to fall behind on assignments around this time of the year, but it's important to finish the same way you started (strong, we hope)! Here are some wellness tips on how to combat burnout and stay motivated for the rest of the year.
Get rest
Sleep is essential! Don't stay up all night planning your summer vacation when you have to get up for school. Waking up groggily can ruin your whole day and your productivity, which is not good when you're trying to do work. The only thing on your mind would be getting back in your comfy bed, which leaves you with no valuable studying time!
Don't deprive yourself of fun
FOMO is real, and it can make you resent school even more because you're missing out on the fun! Be sure to take a few weekends out of the school year to do something you enjoy alone or with friends and have a mental break. Our interest declines over the school year when we're constantly doing work, so reward yourself with activities that don't involve school work.
Keep a checklist
It can be hard to keep up with all the upcoming deadlines and exams you have left as the school year winds down. Make a list of all the assignments with their due dates and stick it in a place you can look at it everyday. As the due dates approach, you won't feel as overwhelmed or caught off guard, and you'll even be able to visibly see your to-do list shrink!
Countdown the days
Get excited! Summer is almost here, don't ruin it by getting a disappointing grade just before break starts. Let the countdown motivate you to study effectively and finish strong.
You've been working hard all year. Stay positive and alert because you're almost to the finish line!
