These things are stressing you out (and you prob didn't know)
Whether you’re aware of them or not, there are so many little things we do everyday that are adding to our stress. School is hard enough balancing homework, extracurriculars, and maintaining a social life. If you’re tired of feeling like you’re constantly being pulled 100 different directions here are some stressors you should eliminate now!
Social media
As much as we love scrolling through Insta and going through Snap stories, they are really impacting our brains. We can be influenced by everything we see in posts—it can lead to being more self-conscious about our body image, get us involved in unnecessary drama and can negatively affect our bodies.
Caffeine
It can be so hard to get through the day without a boost, but caffeine is is known to heighten stress. The jitters you get from a cup of joe are impacting the same jitters you get from anxiety and stress. Get a good night's rest so you don’t need the caffeine pick-me-up.
Everyone else’s stress
You are who you surround yourself with, so if you’re hanging around stressed people, you’re likely to feel the same. Acknowledge that there’s someone in your life who’s making you anxious and take a little break from them. There’s nothing wrong with taking a timeout to better yourself.
Overloading your schedule
It goes without saying that if you’re doing more than you can handle, you’re going to get stressed. Running back and forth from one thing to another doesn’t give you time to really relax. If you need to, cancel something so you can take a bath, watch a movie or do whatever makes you happy.
Working out too much
Balancing healthy food with exercise leads to a healthier you, but if you’re overworking your body, it will affect both your mental and physical health.
Lack of sleep
Falling asleep at different times every night or not getting the proper amount of sleep is not helping alleviate your stress. Sleep is really important to our bodies regenerating for the next day.
