Clear up your skin with these homemade beauty masks

It's no question that radiant skin is in. While foundation can work miracles, maintaining healthy glowing skin should be top priority when it comes to your beauty routine. Today department stores are stocked with aisles upon aisles of pricey skin care products from creams to cleansers, promising flawless skin and the total elimination of acne. But how do you know what *really* works?

The truth is we all have different types of skin, so what works for your sister or BFF might not have the same effect on you. And trial and error can be iffy, especially if you aren't sure how your skin might react with some of the harsh chemicals in over-the-counter beauty products. Luckily, there's a solution...do it yourself! These three homemade facial masks for dry, oily and acne-prone skin are a great start to get you the gorg glow you deserve.

For dry skin: Lemon juice and sugar mask
The sugar exfoliates while the lemon, high in Vitamin C, lightens dark marks and promotes cell growth to prevent skin from forming dry patches.

1. Take a tsp of sugar and the juice of ½ a lemon. Next, mix them well.

2. Apply it on the face as well as other dry skin. Massage it slowly in a circular motion.

3. After that, scrub for about 10 to 15 minutes and then wash it off by using lukewarm water.

For oily skin: Tomato mask
Tomatoes dissolve extra oil and reduce the size of pores. They contain a natrual astringent, like a toner, which helps reduce oil production and makes skin less greasy and shiny.

1. Mash up a tomato and apply to skin.

2. Let it sit for 15 minutees.

3. Wash off with warm water and apply your favorite moisturizer.

For acne-prone skin: Cinnamon and honey mask
The cinnamon removes excess oil while the honey is an antibiotic that helps eliminate pre-exsisting bacteria.

1. Rinse face with water.

2. Mix together 2 tbsp of honey with 1 tsp of cinnamon and apply mixture to your face.

3. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes then remove with warm water.
