Why this high school doesn't have *any* mirrors

We've all had days like this: You spend 30 minutes in the morning doing your hair and makeup (even following along to a YouTube tutorial to make sure you nail it) and leave the house feeling *super* cute. Then, in between algebra and English, you head to the bathroom for a quick pit stop...and OMG. What you see in the mirror is not what you want to see. Look at that whitehead on your chin! That frizzy hair! That not-so-perfect face! You suddenly go from confident to crushed.

If there's one thing we know to be true, it's that we're our own worst critics. Especially in middle and high school. You compare yourself to the "popular" girl who seems to have everything you don't or the models you see on Instagram. And, let's be honest, you probably spend way too much time picking yourself apart in front of the mirror.

That's why one high school decided to help out its students' self-esteemby getting rid of mirrors completely. Yep, Laguna Hills High decided to replace all of the mirrors in bathrooms with positive, uplifting messages. Things like "You are doing better than you think!" and "You are extraordinary!" cover the walls, encouraging girls to feel confident and proud of themselves and reminding them that what they look like is the *least* important part.

It might be a little inconvenient to have no mirrors (because sometimes you really do just have to see if you have a piece of spinach stuck in your teeth after lunch) but at the end of the day, we love the message that Laguna Hills is spreading. There is so much more to who you are than your outside appearance and no matter what size, shape or color you are, you are valuable and, in the words of Fifth Harmony, worth it.

What do you think about the no mirrors campaign? Sound off in the comments!
