3 too-awesome-to-be-average 5K races
The Happiest 5K on Earth
If you could have sworn you were storybook princess in another life, put the Disney Royal Family 5K at the top of your list. Running in sunny Florida around the Epcot Center as Mickey and gang are cheering you on–it doesn't get much better than that! Well, except maybe the Disney Princess Half Marathon where royal-highnesses-for-a-day run in tiaras and tutus for 13.1 enchanting miles. Not to rain on your fairytale finish line, but you need a guardian's signature to compete if you're under 18. Think of it this way: If you can wait for Prince Charming, you can wait–and train–for this magical half marathon.
Color Me Speedy
Running races is about getting dirty, not pretty, you say? Time to get rainbow-fied in the Color Run. At each kilometer-marker, volunteers shower you in five different colored powders: yellow, green, blue, purple and pink. The powder is totally safe and even edible, but it's not recommended for snacking since it's a chalky cal-fest (blegh). Don't want the all-out tie-dyed look on your shirt? There's a designated “low color lane” if you just want a touch of tint. Either way, deck yourself in white to start, and leave the slow-pokes in your multi-colored dust.
