Sweet spring treats in seconds

Smoothie
I love making smoothies for breakfast or as snacks during the day. Toss 6 oz (or one single serving container) of Greek yogurt, 1 cup of strawberries, a whole peeled banana and a few ice cubes into a blender. Mix until smooth, pour into a glass and sip away. You can use plain yogurt if you like, but Greek yogurt has tons more protein, making it super healthy.
Strawberry shortcake
The next time you’re at the store, grab a pound cake or angel food cake from the bakery section. All you have to do is cut the cake into thin slices, top with whipped cream and cover with strawberries. If ya wanna layer it up, keep on stacking!
Banana split
If you’ve got a banana on hand and some ice cream, you’re good to go. Split the peeled banana in half and toss it in a bowl. Top with scoops of fat-free vanilla frozen yogurt or your fave creamy French vanilla ice cream. A sprinkle of diced nuts finishes it off.
Grilled pineapple
If Mom and Dad are firing up the grill, toss a few slices of pineapple on after dinner. Cook each side for a few minutes or until you can see the grill marks on the fruit’s flesh. Eat immediately for a treat that melts in your mouth.
Tropical trifle
Grab a bowl and start layering! Top a layer of store-bought angel food cake with the fruits of your choice (we like mangos and bananas for a tropical theme or a variety of berries for something more traditional), then cover the fruit with a layer of whipped cream. Continue until you reach the rim of the bowl, then dig in.
