MAKE IT CUTE

DIYs

Try these crafty DIYs to dazzle up your earmuffs

Bundle up this winter, cozy cutie! Earmuffs serve two important purposes: Keeping us warm and looking stylish during the snowy season.

If you love a good DIY (relatable), you've probably thought about customizing your earmuffs before. We're talking rhinestones, pearls and so much more! Keep reading to find out exactly how to personalize yours (and DW, we’ll share the how-to from start-to-finish).

Bows and rhinestones

White earmuffs, $20, Hollister.com. Hot pink ribbon, $2, Walmart.com. Light pink ribbon, $2, Walmart.com. Rhinestone kit, $4, Walmart.com.

Bows are huge right now, thanks to the coquette aesthetic taking over everybody's FYP. Even Madison Beer and Ariana Grande are rocking them...

To achieve this girly 'n' glam look, grab some ribbon and rhinestones (see our recs above). For a larger bow, use wide ribbon, or choose a thinner one for a dainty look. After tying, place the bow on the ear cover or above the arch. Want a more permanent makeover? Fabric or hot glue works, plus you can stick on those rhinestones for extra glam!

Charms and glitter

Silver glitter, $4, Walmart.com. Earmuffs, $10, Walmart.com. Gold glitter, $4, Walmart.com. Pendants, $4, Joann.com. Iridescent glitter, $4, Walmart.com.

A sprinkle of sparkle, anyone? The classiest combo is to pair glam pendants with glitter. Apply clear-drying fabric adhesive to your chosen area, then sprinkle on the glitter and let it sit for 24 hours to set. Next, grab an elegant pendant from your local craft store and remove the loop if needed. Secure it with strong glue to make sure it stays in place. Voilà—your sparkly, customized creation is good to go!

Flat back pearls

Purple earmuffs, $17, Factory.JCrew.com. Flat back pearls, $4, Joann.com. Embellishments, $4, Joann.com. Adhesive pearls, $1, Walmart.com.

Pearls are *so* in this season—why not rock them on your earmuffs? When adding pearl-like accessories to earmuffs, use flat-back pearls for durability. Fabric or hot glue will help secure them, but for a temporary look, go for adhesive pearls. Decorate the arch or ear covers however you like—try shapes like hearts, flowers or stars, or go for fun patterns like polka dots or zigzag lines.

Iron-on patches

Monogrammed patch, $15, Etsy.com. Crystal heart iron on patch, $2, Michaels.com. White and gold star patch, $2, HobbyLobby.com. Black earmuffs, $10, Walmart.com. Rhinestone star patch, $4, Joann.com. Crystal letter patch, $2, Michaels.com. Chenille letter patch, $1, Walmart.com.

Want a truly unique look? Meet these shimmery, iron-on patches. For totally custom muffs that'll earn you endless compliments (and likely a few "Wait, *where* did you get those?"), try a custom monogram patch. Not into initials? No prob: Shapes like hearts, stars, and more offer endless design possibilities. Use fabric glue, hot glue or sew them on for a secure hold (or ask a parent to help you out with ironing).
