It’s official: villain vibes are *in* this fall. With spooky season in full swing and Descendants: The Rise of Red officially streaming, what better way to celebrate than by throwing a party straight out of Auradon and Wonderland? Whether you’re obsessed with Red’s rebellious energy or still vibing with the OG VKs, here’s how to throw a bash that even the Queen of Hearts would approve of. 

Serve some treats no one can resist

You can’t have a VK-approved party without some wickedly good snacks. Inspired by Rise of Red, serve up some red velvet cupcakes—extra points for frosting a heart on top—that are fit for a Queen (of Hearts, obviously).

And of course, whip up a few of Mal’s “Rotten to the Core” caramel apples for the *ultimate* throwback vibes.

Build the perfect party playlist

What’s a Descendants party without the soundtrack to match? Start with all the classics from the trilogy—“Rotten to the Core,” “Chillin’ Like a Villain,” and “What’s My Name”—then pump up the volume with the Rise of Red soundtrack and watch your guests hit the dance floor to show off their best moves.

Transform your space into the perfect fusion of Auradon and Wonderland. For the color palette, think deep reds, blacks, and purple. Add heart-shaped balloons and a throne for your party’s very own VK queen (aka you).

Looking for a fun DIY project? Channel Red’s rebellious spirit and create a bold statement at your party with a spray paint backdrop. Grab an old sheet and some spray paint from your local craft store to make some graffiti-style hearts (inspired by Red’s, er, art projects from the newest movie). This edgy-yet cute backdrop will instantly set the scene for your bash, plus leave you with some pretty iconic pics for your IG.
