EXCLUSIVE! Jaidyn Triplett gives us the inside scoop on iCarly's newest season
iCarly is back for its third season (yessss)—so, naturally, we had to chat with amaze actress Jaidyn Triplett, aka the hilarious Millicent Mitchell from the series' much anticipated reboot. With so much to spill (are Carly and Freddie *finally* free to be together??), you might want to start reading in five, four, three, two...
Girls' Life: What's it like bringing Millicent's character to life?
Jaidyn Triplett: When I read the script for the first season, my reaction was pretty immediate. I've been able to put more of myself into the character, and it's honestly been really nice seeing Millicent grow over the years. The writers have done a really good job of making her known and bringing her into the iCarly world.
GL: Yeah, it really feels like she's been there since the OG seasons. So, since day one, you're been drawn to this character?
Jaidyn: Absolutely, yeah. It was really easy for me to get into character—like, the moment I got onto the set, I just *knew* how I was going to handle the lines and deliver them. She's a very relatable character for pre-teens especially. Milllicent is just so funny and sarcastic and goofy...but she has a soft side, too. She's just great for people who want to see themselves when they're watching a show.
GL: What's your fave on-set memory from filming season three?
Jaidyn: There's so many great moments with the cast...but I think my favorite one was from filming episode two. Jerry [Trainor] was in this silly costume—and off set, he was still in the costume—so while everyone was filming their scenes, he was in our peripheral, just eyeing us all. It was the most hilarious thing. We have a lot of great bloopers.
GL: Love that. Now, let's talk about the vibes on set: What's it like working with Miranda Cosgrove and Nathan Kress?
Jaidyn: Oh my gosh, I've learned so much from them over the years. From day one, they were all so welcoming and open to teaching me about acting.
GL: That's so awesome. Now, the last season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. What can you tell us about Carly and Freddie's relationship in season three?
Jaidyn: Personally, I do like #Creddie, so I'm excited to see them flourish.
GL: Yesss, we ship them too. What else are you excited for viewers to see this season?
Jaidyn: I want girls who look like me to look forward to seeing my hairstyles. On set, our hairstylist, Tanya, would do my hair, and I would always go out looking my best. I'm really excited for people to see that.
