Summertime tunes
Hey, sunshine. What are your plans for this summertime weekend? Since BBQs, cookouts and pool parties are so popular right now, we thought you could use some new tunes to add to the party playlist. Check ’em out, add them to your iPod and let the night-long dance party begin!
Shakira – “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”
Shakira – “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”
Continue to share your love for team U.S.A. (who cares if they’ve been cut from the FIFA World Cup?). Shakira’s voice may be hard to understand in the World Cup’s official song, especially since she switches up the languages on us, but it’s totally danceable. Show your spirit!
Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg – “California Gurls”
Anything sung by Katy Perry could potentially be your summer anthem, but this one is absolutely perfect. Plus, summer is the only time that most of the other states enjoy bikinis and sun-kissed skin “so hot we’ll melt your popsicle!”
3OH!3 ft. Ke$ha – “My First Kiss”
Play this while you’re getting ready to meet up with a cutie for some motivation. How cute would it be for this to be playing when you had your first kiss?
Sheryl Crow – “Summer Day”

Sheryl Crow – “Summer Day”
Put this on repeat when you’re laying at the beach or pool. If ya wanna relax, this song will sure do it. Even with your eyes closed, you’ll feel the sun shining as Sheryl croons about how her life got changed one summer day.
Jay-Z – “Young Forever”
With reminders of a throwback, your parents might even enjoy this blasting out of their speakers by the grill. It’s got a good hip-hop beat in the background so you and your girls can bust a move.
H*Wood – “Could It Be You”
You may not be a punk-rock chick, but this song can still be your jam. H*Wood mentions all our favorite girls, like Rihanna and Gaga, with an amazing beat that’ll make you wanna jump around.
Allstar Weekend – “Dance Forever”
Lady Gaga – “Summerboy”
Gaga’s light, poppy tune is great to jam out to while you’re with your girls. And it may end up reminding you of a special someone when you listen to it in a few months.
Glee Cast – “Don’t Stop Believin’ (Regionals Version)”

Allstar Weekend – “Dance Forever”
If you’re not in love with these guys yet, just look at a picture of them. This song has a techno-rock feel that reminds ya of Metro Station, and the lyrics prove that these guys know how to get down and party…they can dance forever!
Jack Johnson – “You and Your Heart”
Jack Johnson’s another chill dude that will snap you out of a bad mood in just one song. His smooth voice can help you relax in a lounge chair when you’re tired, but the upbeat acoustic guitar will have your feet tapping while chilling outside with friends.Lady Gaga – “Summerboy”

Glee Cast – “Don’t Stop Believin’ (Regionals Version)”
When the cast brought this song back in the season finale, I went crazy. How can they make us wait months to hear more from the Glee crew? Listen to this tune all summer to get you through the break in your fave Tuesday night show.
Which song will you be playing the most this summer? Blog about it, babes.
