Isabella Crovetti is bringing all the magical vibes in this Disney+ flick

Life is, well, stressful atm...and we all could use an escape. Our current pick? A laugh-out-loud, super adorable flick like Magic Camp, streaming now on Disney+ (check it out here). We caught up with Isabella Crovetti, who plays Ruth in the family-friendly comedy, on BTS secrets and the ~true~ meaning of magic. đź’–✨

Girls' Life: Take us behind-the-scenes of Magic Camp.

Isabella: Filming was sooo much fun. I became so close with the cast and we'd hang out all the time. During filming, the musical Hamilton had just become popular—so we'd always be belting out the tracks in each other's trailers and in the video village during shooting breaks. We even had sleepovers at each other's houses and went to Universal Studies and The Magic Castle together on our days off. We all really learned to work well as an ensemble cast and I think the genuine bond we created and shared really comes across in the film.

GL: What kinds of magic did you learn for the role?

Isabella: We actually went to Magic School for a month before filming started and got to learn from some of the best magicians in the industry. We learned tons of tricks—sleight of hand and working with animals to make birds and bunnies appear and disappear. At the end of shooting, we were all given these *amazing* magic sets.

GL: What advice do you have for GL readers?

Isabella: Embrace who you are and love your differences. Don't change to fit what society tells you is "in."

GL: What's something most people don't know about you?

Isabella: I am actually shy. I kind of sit back and take everything in before joining a group or conversation. I'm very different from my character in Magic Camp

GL: What have you been up to lately?

Isabella: Playing my guitar, writing my own songs and horseback riding with my family. I have a project that I'll be working on this winter so stay tuned.

GL: What does magic mean to you?

Isabella: Magic is being around the people you love and laughing. My family is big on creativity and laughter. Someone is always cracking jokes, making up characters or coming up with imaginative games to play.
