Must List

The movie you should watch next, based on your favorite Taylor Swift music video

A universal Gen Z experience is watching T-Swift's "You Belong with Me" music vid and thinking, "Wow, I wish this masterpiece was longer than three minutes and forty-nine seconds." Well, today's the day you can stop hitting that YouTube replay button, because we've compiled the *ultimate* list of movies that match the vibe of Taylor's biggest music videos. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show, because our recs will save your Swiftie movie night.

"Bad Blood" - Ocean's 8

"Bad Blood" is the ultimate girl gang adventure saga. The killer cast of celebs (including Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid) training and battling each other is friendship goals. If it's your fave, you'll adore Ocean's 8. It's another star-studded sensation, and it chronicles the heist of the century: a theft at the Met Gala. By the end, you'll want to add Anne Hathaway and Awkwafina to your (imaginary) famous friend group!

"Shake it Off" - Legally Blonde

Taylor boogies and twirls off-beat in the "Shake it Off" music vid, and we love her even more for it! She doesn't care about negative comments or jabs, just like the main character in Legally Blonde. Elle Woods is unapologetically herself and never compromises her values for anyone else's agenda. She applies to Harvard Law School despite others' disapproval, and she refuses to succumb to the totally dreary status quo once she gets there. And, in our opinion, Elle would def be a Swiftie.

"All Too Well: The Short Film" - La La Land

Everyone agrees that "All Too Well" is an unrivaled masterpiece. Taylor's storytelling ability conveys the highs and lows of a relationship, and the impact each person had on the other's life. Another fab yet heartbreaking movie is La La Land, a musical romance centering on a struggling actor and an unsuccessful musician. It portrays their love from beginning to bittersweet end—and if you're looking for that ATW type of heartache, this is the flick for you.

"The Man" - She's the Man

"The Man" is a hilarious yet eye-opening take on misogyny and gender inequality in society. Taylor disguised herself as a man while detailing the barriers she's faced due to her gender, and we are *all* for her sticking up for herself. She's the Man follows Viola, an A+ soccer player who wants to compete on the boys' team, but faces opposition among her male peers and their coaches. In order to prove her point, she poses her older brother at boarding school, which results in sticky (and silly) situations. Girl power!

"Love Story" - Pride and Prejudice (2005)

"Love Story" is Taylor's iconic rendition of Romeo and Juliet (and we think Shakespeare has some competition, tbh). If you love that old-timey, romantic feel, Pride and Prejudice has to be your next movie night pick. It's a classic enemies-to-lovers tale, and Lizzie and Mr. Darcy will have you absolutely swooning. They slowly learn each other's secrets and fall in love dramatically. We promise you, P&P has *never* disappointed a "Love Story" fan.

"You Belong with Me" - To All the Boys I've Loved Before

This music vid is ingrained in all of our elementary school memories. Watching nerdy Taylor fall for the popular boy (who's inconveniently dating a mean version of Taylor) is a pivotal moment in every gal's life. If you find yourself still pining after that boy-next-door, you'll love To All the Boys I've Loved Before. It stars Lara Jean, a quiet book-lover, and her whirlwind fake-to-real romance with lax stud Peter Kavinsky. Lara Jean is just as quirky and lovable as YBWM Taylor is, and the ending is just as sweet.
