6 writing prompts to help you get into mindful journaling

Journaling is one of the best ways to express yourself and promote mindful reflection. By writing down your thoughts and feelings, you're better able to understand your own emotions. Writing in a journal is perfect for manifesting, goal realization and self-discovery, *and* it's a great way to start (or end) your day. Whether you're just getting into journaling or you're an avid writer, we've come up with six easy prompts to help promote mindful journal-writing.

Who am I most grateful for in my life?

This prompt is a great way to recognize who is currently making a positive impact on your life. Use this question to reflect on family members, friends, teachers and/or teammates who push you to be your best self!

What are three things I am looking forward to today?

Answering this prompt can be as simple as jotting down a three-word list. By taking note of what you're looking forward to, however simple, you're choosing to see the good in the day ahead. Gratitude is a major way to spread some seriously good vibes.

What is a goal I am consciously working toward, and what next step toward that goal can I take?

Visualize a current goal and think about the progress you've made towards it so far. Then, try to figure out what comes next. Spend a few minutes reflecting on what you want to achieve, but still recognize how far you've already come. Progress is a process!

Where do I see myself in five years?

Use this prompt to imagine your best life—five years into the future. Instead of focusing on what job you'll have or what car you'll be driving, ask yourself: How do I want to feel then? What will my environment look like? Who will I be surrounding myself with?  Allow yourself to get lost in this prompt and really envision your highest self. This is the *best* way to start understanding who you really want to be.

In this moment, what are three words that describe how I'm feeling?

Joyful? Anxious? Tense? Calm? Challenge yourself to find words that really capture your inner dialogue. Even if you only scribble a few words, you're still taking a moment to check in with your emotions, which is really all that matters.

If I could give myself any gift today, what would it be?

Think about what you *really* need, and try to put it into words. Maybe you just need time to rest, or maybe you could really use some positive affirmations. Remind yourself that you are worthy of whatever it is you may need, and try to give that to yourself. After all, self love is the best gift of all.
