At just 11 years old, Chandler Head is already making waves in the world of film and TV—with acting credits in movies like The Glass Castle and When We Last Spoke as well as a recurring role in Disney+'s new show The Right Stuff.

We chatted with Chandler about life behind the scenes, her big dreams and what it's like to work with role models like Brie Larson(!!) on the big screen.

GL: How did you get started in acting?

Chandler Head: I started acting when my older sister Carlyn was begging my mom for an agent because she loved theater acting so much. After that, like any 4-year-old would, I followed in her footsteps. She carried through with musical theater and I kept acting—and now I'm 11, so almost half my life!

GL: Who are your role models?

CH: One of my acting role models is probably Brie Larson, because she was a child actress, too. I got to work with her on the set of The Glass Castle in 2016 and she was one of the kindest people I have ever worked with. All in all, she is just a very inspiring human.

GL: What is your fave past project—take us behind the scenes!

CH: I loved every minute of my experience filming The Glass Castle. I auditioned through tape and was on a plane to Canada to film less than two weeks later. I was filming for nine weeks and became so close with my cast members! The Glass Castle is a true story and it felt like really important work. To tell a story that can help and encourage people feels really good. I'm really proud that I was able to help tell Jeanette Wall's story.

GL: What are your *biggest* dreams for the future?

CH:  Some of my big dreams for the future are to be a doctor as my main job when I am older, but I also still want to act on the side. Another dream of mine is to own a farm in the mountains, with horses, pigs and cows. I also want to rescue dogs from high kill shelters like my family does now, because there are a lot of dogs in need.

GL: What's the best part of acting in a new role?

CH: I love each adventure that a new project brings. Not just the places that you go physically but the person who you get to become with all of your heart. I am definitely braver because of the characters that I have had the honor to portray.
