Dear Carol
My ex-bestie is jealous of my new BFF
I really like my new best friend, but my ex-best friend is really jealous of my new friend. What should I do?
Dear Fighting Friends,
Can you think about each other as good friends or close friends instead of best friends and ex-best friends? This might ease pressure and help everyone feel less hurt, betrayed or left out. It’s not an overnight change, just a subtle shift in how you label these friendships. While I hope you can stay tight with both girls, it’s best not to expect them to appreciate each other. Hang out with one girl at a time and spend those hours having fun—not talking about The Missing Person.
