LIFE

Dear Carol

Midteen crisis

Ever since high school started, it suddenly hit me. I have only four more years until I’m an adult! I still have so much to do, and there’s no time. It just doesn’t feel like I’ve done enough or accomplished anything big.

Dear Midteen Crisis,
Take a deep breath. You’re a freshman. No expects you to have cured cancer or directed a movie or climbed Mount Everest. In four years, you’ll probably be in college with even more years to discover your passions and goals. Even when you are an adult, it’s not like it’s Game Over. You’ll have decades ahead for work and pleasure. As for not having enough time for everything, try to use your time wisely, but also give yourself credit for what you are doing instead of berating yourself for not doing enough.
