LIFE
Dear Carol
My mom is tearing my sister and me apart!
My sister and I are really getting along for the first time ever. My mom and I got along almost perfectly before my sister and I became friends. Now, my mom gets mad at me because my sister is a “rebel.” How do I have a good relationship with both?
Dear Mommy’s Girl,
It’s great that you get along with your mom and sister. No need to choose. Say, “Mom, I’m happy that my sister is finally recognizing me as a friend. Be happy that you raised two daughters who like each other.” If you stay sensitive to their feelings, no one in your family should feel threatened.
