Boost your energy ASAP with these tips
We all get in a slump sometimes where we go days at a time feeling exhausted and drowsy with no idea as to why. Stop your sleepy suffering with these quick and easy tips to help you increase your energy so you can actually enjoy the day...instead of just counting the hours until you can go back to bed.
Wake up at the same time every morning.
Take note of the word 'morning' when you read that. It's important to stick to the same time, regardless of when you went to bed the night before. Our bodies follow a circadian rhythm, which is your body's internal clock that dictates your bod's physiological processes. By waking up at the same time everyday, including your days off and weekends, you are syncing with a schedule that will allow you to feel refreshed every morning because your body will be used to your routine.
Eat better carbs.
Carbohydrates keep our bodies fueled properly and help in the digestion process, but it's important to understand the difference between different types. Chips, cookies and other snack food only provide a short spurt of energy that is usually followed by a crash. But carbs like oatmeal, whole-wheat bread and other whole grains will keep you full for longer periods of time and give you more lasting energy.
Exercise daily.
Working out actually gives you *more* energy. By building at least 30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine, you'll get improved ciruclation, a strengthened heart muscle and a bod that is able to do more. Not to mention, it will prob improve your mood, too.
Add lemon to your water.
Lemon has been scientifically proven to be a natural energizer that oxygenates the body, which can also boot your immune system and flush out out toxic materials. Plus, it helps balance your body's pH levels which perks you up because when your body eneters a state that is too acidic, it can really deplete your energy stores.
Consume more avocado.
Avocado is known as a superfood, aka one that works wonders for your body. They contain a lot of fat, but it's the "good" kind that protects the mitochondria in your body's cells, which aid in the production of energy. The healthier the mitochondria, the more energy your body will be able to produce. So, in that case, bring on the guac.
