The New Year's resolutions that'll make you love your body

It's that time of year again...the time when people are going crazy making New Year's resolutions about how they are going to improve themselves. But this year, we're tired of the same old self improvement promises we make for ourselves. Forget the gym or those pesky five pounds. Forget eating only kale salads and stressing about the size of your jeans. In 2017, let's focus on all of the things that are *already* great about ourselves and our lives. Here are some resolutions that we can all use to feel just a little bit better about our bods:

1. Go on a media diet. Stop listening to what popular culture says about what you should look like. Enjoy what you've got going on, because girl...you've got it going on!

2. Appreciate your body. Forget all of the things that you don't have (ahem...that unachievable thigh gap or DD boobs) and focus on what you do. Great eyes, great personality and that really cute butt, for example.

3. Cut out negativity. Surround yourself with people that make you feel good about who you are. Your true friends won't care if you're a size 2 or 12, promise.

4. Throw out the scale. Girls, get rid of them already. Our bodies fluctuate so often that it's not worth weighing yourself on the daily. Plus, weight doesn't always determine health. It's about a lot more than the number you see.

5. Focus on what makes you happy. Does a triple decker sundae with sprinkles make you happy? Eat it. Does helping those in need make you feel good about yourself? Do more charity work! Whatever it is that makes you feel good about who you are as a person is what you need to focus on. Only you can decide for yourself what that might be.
