Upgrade your H2O with these fresh'n'fruity recipes
Doctors recommend that we drink eight glasses of water every day—but we all know there are tons of other things we’d rather be drinking (have doctors even heard of Starbucks?). The solution to all that ho-hum hydration? Fruit-infused water. It’s all-natural, refreshing, and a great pick-me-up, and you can customize it with all your fave flavor combos. Check out our faves below.
What you’ll need:
Minty Watermelon Water
- 4 cups of watermelon, cut into ½ inch cubes
- 6 sprigs of mint, lightly crushed
- 2 quarts of still water
Raspberry-Orange Water
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 pint raspberries, lightly crushed
- 2 quarts of still water
Rosemary-Grapefruit Water
- 1 grapefruit, thinly sliced
- 6 sprigs of rosemary
- 2 quarts of still water
Blueberry-Lemon-Mint Water
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 6 sprigs of mint, lightly crushed
- a generous handful of blueberries
- 2 quarts of still water
Melon Madness Water
- 1 cup cantaloupe, cut into ½ inch cubes
- 1 cup watermelon, cut into ½ inch cubes
- 1 cup honeydew, cut into ½ inch cubes
- 2 quarts of still water
What you’ll do:
1. Place all ingredients into a pitcher and refrigerate for 2-4 hours to let the ingredients infuse with the water.
2. Stir well. Strain the water, discarding solid bits.
3. To serve, garnish with fresh fruit and/or sprigs. The water will keep refrigerated for up to 2 days.
