4 ways to cut your gym time in half
Don’t socialize a lot
Yes, we love working out with our besties, but make sure that your bestie wants to workout just as much as you do. Socializing with her and other people at the gym can take up a lot more time than you would think. So make sure you and her are both ready to get in and out, and leave the mingling for after.
Make a plan
Sometimes we get to the gym completely ready to workout, but end up wandering because we’re not sure what to do. Deciding what exercise to do next is a big waste of time, so make sure you plan your workout before you set off. Not only will this save you tons of time, but you’ll also be able to do some research to see what workouts you should do for each area of your body.
Take fewer breaks
Now we’re not saying that you shouldn’t have a water break here or there, but taking one after every exercise is a big no-no. It’s important to keep your heart rate up, so if you’re taking tons of breaks, it’s time to cut some of those out. Limiting breaks will allow you to burn more calories in a shorter amount of time, and it will cut your down time at the gym in half.
Leave your phone in the locker room
As hard as it seems, try leaving your phone in the locker room for the duration of your workout. Grab an iPod instead and use that to listen to music. You might be focused on your workout, but having your phone right next to you will make you tempted to check your texts, Twitter or Instagram. Before ya know it, you’ll be in a full convo with one of your girls about how cute the guy next to you is.
