16-year-old cheerleader breaks world record
The Texas high school football and cheerleading scene is
legendary for its intensity, but one cheerleader has become particularly
legendary. Miranda Ferguson, 16, is a high school junior in Dallas, Texas. Last
week, she broke the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of
consecutive back handsprings during halftime at one of her school’s football
games. She did back handsprings from one 15-yard line to the other and
performed 35 total. Holy cow!
As she executed each move, hand-springing past a line of her teammates as the crowd counted along, Miranda knew making it to the finish line would be tough. But she made it—though she told a local Fox News affiliate reporter that she was a little worried she would fall before she made it to 35. She did slow down a bit towards the end, but break the record she did, and she couldn’t be more thrilled!
Watch the video of the accomplishment below and wish her a big congrats in the comments, cuties!
