3 cinchy ways to celebrate Father's Day...in a kinda-sorta healthy way
You might be chillin’ and grillin’ all day with Pops, but that doesn’t mean the unhealthy food has to pile up. Here are a few secrets to keeping your Dad’s Day celebration fit and fab.
Resist the urge to bake cookies
We know it’s tough (we love to bake, too!), but there will probably be plenty of opps for unhealthy nibbles throughout the day. Show your old man the love by whipping up something healthier, like fruit salad. Or, nab a container of sorbet from the grocery store and serve it with berries or mint. YUM!
Switch up your grillables
Burgers and dogs are the standbys. Why not give the celebration a healthy makeover by making turkey or veggie burgers or grilled chicken? Serve it up with delish veggies as sides.
Here are a couple of our fave better-for-ya summer recipes: Texas Burgers and Fourth of July Veggie.
Get outside
We know, we know: Your Dad might just wanna plop in front of the tube and watch a baseball marathon. But if he doesn’t? Suggest running a fun 5K together, renting some kayaks, biking on a local path, hiking, or hitting a bucket of golf balls together. Or play whatever sport you love. It’ll take less than an hour, but you both will have a total blast!
