I have super-pale skin, and my mom wouldn’t let me wear any makeup until a few months ago. At last year’s winter dance, all of the other girls were wearing blush, mascara—the works. Feeling ghostlike, I decided to give my cheeks a nice pinch to add some color to my complexion. I didn’t realize until after the dance that I had awful-looking, huge finger imprints on my cheeks! It definitely explained the weird looks I received all night, thought.
