Celeb-inspired costumes you need to try this Halloween

It's sure been one crazy year for us pop-culture lovers. Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS? Barbenheimer? Beyoncé's World Tour? It's simply a pop-culture overload (but tbh, are we really complaining?).

When it comes to Halloween, everyone loves a good pop-culture reference. After that viral couple who dressed up as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce back in 2020 basically predicted their relationship, we just know there's gonna be some ah-mazing celeb Halloween looks this year. So, we've rounded up some costumes inspired by our fave celeb moments of all time.

1. Kendall and Kylie at the 2019 Met Gala

@themetgalaofficial

Two words: Camped. Out. They said "stick to the theme," but Kendall and Kylie heard "slay the theme." The 2019 Met Gala, "Camp: Notes on Fashion," celebrated boldness and extravagance. But this duo look was beyond bold and extravagant. Not only did they understand the assignment, they absolutely crushed it.

To recreate this look with your bestie, the iconic lavender and orange dresses (V-Neck Midi Dress, Amazon, $38) are a must. And ofc, it's feathers galore out here, so definitely opt in for some of that fun fuzz (Feather Boa, Amazon, $10).

2. Sabrina Carpenter on tour (aka pop princess)

@sabrinacarpenter

The Sabrina craze has really spiraled into obsession this year, all thanks to her "emails i can't send" tour. Her signature pop princess slash go-go girl style is *so* iconic, and honestly, Halloween is just another excuse to channel our inner Sabrina.

There are so many glamorous tour outfits you can choose from. But for this hot pink look, wear a sparkly heart top (In Your Heart Rhinestone Crop Top, Edikted, $30), a pink mini skirt (Shiny Metallic Skirt, Amazon, $20), and ofc, some white go-go boots (Gogo Knee High Boot, Amazon, $20).

3. Lainey Wilson at the Grammy Museum

@laineywilson

Not only has Lainey Wilson taken over the country world with her music (we're still streaming "Heart Like a Truck" on the daily), but her rough-and-tumble signature style has too. Lainey basically invented flare pants and wide-rimmed hats.

Enter your bell-bottom era by pairing a flowy white blouse (Puff-sleeved crop blouse, H&M, $15) with some super cute faux snakeskin flare jeans (Saints & Hearts Women's Snake Print High Rise Flare Jeans, Boot Barn, $45). A totally Lainey-inspired fedora completes the bohemian lewk (Bow fedora in sand, J. Crew, $35).

4. Britney Spears in the "...Baby One More Time" music video

@bspearspics

When in doubt, a throwback Halloween costume is always the move. And what celeb fit is more iconic than Brit-Brit's classic schoolgirl look from the "...Baby One More Time" music video? Nostalgia (and OG Britney!) at full blast rn.

You too can serve Y2K realness with a white button-up (tied up, ofc) (John Galt fitted long sleeve shirt, Pacsun, $32), a grey pleated skirt (Ultra High-Rise Pleated Skater Skort, Hollister, $30) and grey cardigan (Women's Classic 3/4 Sleeve Open Front Cropped Cardigan, Amazon, $23). Bonus points if you sport some cute braids and even cuter pink scrunchies (Small Fuzzy Fur Scrunchies Furry Pony Holder, Amazon, $8). Britney would be soooo proud.

5. Taylor Swift in just about any era

@taylornation

Whether you're vibing with folklore this fall or knee-deep in your Reputation era, Taylor Swift has hundreds of Halloween-ready looks to choose from. Just pick your personal fave album/song/lyric/Swiftie inside joke and let your creativity soar. Need inspo? Check out just about any Eras Tour concert fit, ever.

In honor of 1989 (Taylor's Version), take it back to 2014 by matching a sparkly bomber jacket (Yutuwomsfushi Women's Sequin Long Sleeve Front Zip Bomber Jacket, Amazon, $45) with a black crop top (Basic Black Cotton Blend Short Sleeve Crop Top $8) and a shimmering purple skirt (Women's Purple Multi-layer Tassel & Glitter Belly Dance Skirt, Shein, $8). Don't forget Tay's iconic red lip!
