Beat the backpack blues with this DIY

If you've been feeling a bit bored with your backpack lately, no worries—we've got the cure for your tote troubles. This watercolor tutorial is not only gorg, it's also *super* simple. Use it as your school backpack or make a smaller version for a laidback alternative to your purse.

You'll need:

Canvas backpack
Fabric paint
Sponge brushes
Water

Directions:

1. Use a large sponge brush to dampen the areas you want to add watercolor to.

2. Dip a smaller sponge brush into water and then one of your paint colors. Dab it onto the damp backpack. The color will spread instantly.

3. Repeat step 2 for each of your colors. To help the colors blend more, continue to dab water over top of where the colors meet.

4. Let dry for a marbled masterpiece.
