Step 1
Cut 10 (2 groups of 5) strands of embroidery floss to 30 inches long. Cut more strands of each color if your chain gauge is larger. -
Step 2Knot all the threads together, leaving a 2-inch tail. Separate the color sets and thread each group through one embroidery needle.
-
Step 3Begin to braid: Lay the thread to the left of the chain, then pick up one needle and weave the chain through the first link, starting from underneath the chain. Pull it back over top to the left side.
-
Step 4
Pick up the second needle and lay it over the first color, then pull underneath through the same link, and place it back on the left. -
Step 5
Repeat steps 3 and 4. You should have both colors going through each link to create a braid. -
-
-
Step 6
Repeat until you reach the end of the chain. Tie off thread with a double knot and trim the ends. If using charms, use pliers to place a finding and charm on every other chain link on your finished bracelet. -
