CRUSHES

The guy I like isn't exactly popular, but he has a lot of friends in the popular crowd, so he hangs out with them a lot. Well, one day at lunch, the most popular girl of them all and her friends started calling me all these mean names and saying horrible things about me. I knew they weren't true, but it still hurt. I began to cry and ran off.

Later, after school was out, my crush came to my locker. I was so scared to face him after what those girls said. But he just grabbed my arms and looked right into my eyes. "You didn't really believe those girls, right?" All I could do was stare back at him. "Hannah, listen. You are so sweet, and kind, and funny, and pretty. Don't you see that?" It was all I could do to not to cry again! And, later, I found out he had stood up for me to the Queen Bee! I'm still floating on a cloud!
