I was told girls don't complain
They stand there and bear.
I followed that "virtue"
And I didn't say a word

I was told girls had to be girly
They just stand there and look fancy.
I followed that "rule"
And I stayed silent and waited

I was told girls dreamed about guys
They stand there and flirt
I followed that "mindset"
And I fawned over guys.

Yet those weren't me.
I wasn't your typical girl
If I had the chance to go back,
I would just be me.
