You Wrote It

Your Tuesday read: Prince Charming - an original poem

Hey babes! Here's an original poem written by GL reader Michaela H., 12. Take a look and tell us what ya think in the comments.

Making the edges count on the coloring;

We all did that as children;
We all made the outsides count;
Because we all thought out of the box.

We thought that unicorns and fairies existed;
We thought that there was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow;
We dreamed that someday we would find a prince charming;
And ride off into a sunset on the back of a white horse

On the edges of the paper;
Where we drew our name and our crush’s name in a heart
When we found that rainbow;
Because we thought only the best.

We thought that we could become demigods and wizards,
As the characters in our books;
We thought that there was a laugh to every joke;
We dreamed that someday we would find a prince charming;
And ride off into a sunset on the back of a white horse.

But we only think;
We never know that our prince charming thinks that we are Juliet;
We never know that heartbreaks happen every day;
We never know.
I only know;
Through the heartbreak I cry about still;
I saw my Romeo,
But he found his Juliet,
Yet it was not me.

When I thought I saw my prince
He slipped away
With a Snow White;
Away from me--
The Sleeping Beauty,
Waiting for his touch

To awaken me from my heartbreak.
